starlim//sterners task - the youth support
For a company with 400 employees the trainee-quote is quite high–
35 people do there apprenticeship this year at starlim//sterner.
To support youngsters also beside work, starlim//sterner is com-
mitted to youth support in Wels for some time. Newest project,
the JUWEL (Youth Network Wels). It’s an organisation focused
on the integration of young people in common topics in the mu-
nicipality they live, as well as in regional projects. Equality of
opportunity and participation in decision making are the basic
working standards of JUWEL. Young people are interested to
be part of important decisions which concern themselves – and
we should give them the possibility.
starlim//sterner played an important financial role for managing
the project which was officially started with a kick-off event in
August. Since the start several projects have been realised.
Projects on start
In June teenagers between 12 and 22 years had the chance to
play soccer on the Thalheimer first streetsoccer cup. Playing
soccer as well as several side events e.g. a DJ, table-soccer-
machines, chill-out zones and much more granted a funny after-
noon. There was also a large crowd on the information desk of
the youth-organisation Thalheim, where the teenagers could get
free information, brochures and posters concerning protection of
children and young people. The teenagers who won a price at the
competition received their prices (e.g. a modern MP3-player) with
sparkling eyes.
