DOUBLE TOOLMAKER APPRENTICESHIP

The tasks of a toolmaker involve the production, servicing and repair of cutting and punching tools and injection moulding dies, as well as devices for the positioning of tools on machinery. Drawings serve as a basis for production procedures such as cutting, sawing, drilling, machining, filing, milling and eroding using program-controlled NC and CNC equipment.

Plastics designers create plastic compositions using chemicals, binders and additives, which are then processed into plastics films and moulded products, primarily in mass production. The plastics designers also monitor component production and complete optimisation.

Apprenticeship period: 4 years

Vocational school: 4 x 10-week teaching blocks with residential accommodation, Steyr Vocational School
