MECHANTRONIC TECHNICIAN

Mechatronic technicians are responsible for any kind of mechatronic equipment in the fields of tool, machine or plant building. This implies building mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic as well as electric, electronic and IT components into machines. Mechatronic technicians complete the assembly of such systems and attend these until machine startup. This work is conducted on the shop floor together with their colleagues from other departments, mainly electricians, electronic technicians and tool makers. For countertop mounting mechatronic technicians sometimes work at their customers’ sites.

Apprenticeship period: 3.5 years

Vocational school: 3 x 10-week teaching blocks + 1 x 7.5-week block, with residential accomondation, Vocational school “Linz 5”.
