Energy efficiency through LED conversion
Lower consumption, greater sustainability
In the context of our comprehensive sustainability strategy, we implemented extensive LED retrofitting in 2021 in all our production facilities, converting existing lamps completely to modern LED technology while, simultaneously, setting a new standard for extensions and new structures. In addition, the lights in some ancillary rooms were also replaced through energy-efficient LED lighting. This conversion has numerous advantages which are relevant in both ecological and economic terms. One of the outstanding aspects of these LED light sources is their impressive longevity. With a lifespan of up to 50,000 hours, LEDs are considerably more durable than conventional lights.
A further decisive advantage is the significantly lower energy consumption. LEDs consume up to 30% less energy when compared to conventional light sources, making them an extremely efficient lighting solution. In addition, LEDs provide immediate brightness after activation and a considerably higher light quality when compared to conventional energy-saving lamps. Tangible savings achieved through this change are impressive, as the LED conversion has enabled us to reduce our electricity consumption by 259,320 kWh per annum. A comparison illustrates this, as this saving could provide us with electricity for almost a year.
These measures are part of our continuing efforts to reduce our ecological footprint and lower energy consumption in our production facilities on a sustainable level. The conversion to LED technology is a further example of how we enhance our energy efficiency through innovative solutions and, simultaneously, make our contribution to climate protection.
