Optimum room temperature for efficiency and comfort
At starlim and sterner, we attach a great deal of importance to the efficient use of our resources. A central component of our sustainability strategy is the intelligent control of our indoor air conditioning, this being designed to minimise energy consumption and, simultaneously, to ensure a pleasant working atmosphere.
Efficient ventilation and air conditioning systems in production and offices
Our ventilation systems are designed to ensure optimum conditions in all rooms. We mainly use fresh air for cooling and heating in production areas and workshops. Outside air is suctioned in, preheated or precooled with exhaust air if necessary and then either heated or cooled further by our system. Introduction of the air close to the floor achieves optimum regulation of the working temperature, reducing energy consumption and simultaneously enhancing the level of comfort. The fresh supply air is also precooled or preheated with exhaust air without the air streams mixing. This ensures a high quality of air, despite a minimum use of energy. Radiators support room temperature control in the older office areas, while underfloor heating and cooling is integrated into the newer areas.
Energy efficiency and sustainability
Our indoor air conditioning systems are designed to optimise energy consumption. For example, the ventilation systems in the offices are automatically deactivated at night to save energy. During transitional periods, such as in spring or autumn, we adapt our systems to fluctuating outdoor temperatures to avoid unnecessary wasting of energy through simultaneous heating and cooling. Setpoint room temperatures are configured at 22-24°C and can be raised to a maximum of 26°C in the case of extreme outdoor temperatures to ensure a healthy balance between comfort and energy efficiency. Our comprehensive indoor air conditioning measures demonstrate our commitment to a sustainable working environment that conserves resources. These solutions contribute to the minimising of our energy consumption and, simultaneously, ensuring a healthy and pleasant indoor climate for our employees.
