starlim Asia Pacific receives Conformity Certification for IATF 16949
Nantong, 17th of February, 2025 – The Chinese production site of starlim has received the conformity certification for IATF 16949. This marks a significant milestone, highlighting the company’s high-quality standards in the automotive industry.
The plant in China was completed at the beginning of 2024 followed by the official opening ceremony in October. Since that time, high-quality silicone products have been manufactured at the facility for customers in the APAC region. To certify the high-quality standards at the plant, specifically for the automotive sector, the company has implemented IATF 16949 successfully.
IATF 16949 is an internationally recognized quality standard for the automotive industry. It defines requirements for the quality management system (QMS) of companies in the supply chain, aiming to ensure process quality, defect prevention, and continuous improvement.
The implementation process for IATF 16949 in China was as follows:
- Gap Analysis: A comprehensive assessment of existing processes compared to IATF requirements helped identify areas for optimization.
- Documentation Development: Quality management documentation was revised and aligned with the required standards.
- Phase 1 Audit (Document Review): External auditors reviewed the documentation for compliance and provided valuable recommendations for further improvements.
- Implementation of Improvements: Based on the audit results, processes were optimized and employee training sessions were conducted.
- Phase 2 Audit (Full Audit): The final audit confirmed the practical implementation and effectiveness of the quality management system.
- Successful Completion: After passing the Phase 2 audit the conformity certification was officially issued.
“This certification is proof of our commitment to the highest quality standards and continuous improvement at our Chinese location. It strengthens our trust among customers and partners and ensures our competitiveness in the automotive industry,” says Thomas Bruendl, Managing Director of starlim and sterner.
With the successful completion of IATF 16949, starlim China reinforces its competence as a reliable partner in the automotive industry and strategically positions itself for the future.
