Long Night of Research 2018

The Long Night of Research on Friday, April 13, 2018 breaks all records and once again proves to be a real crowd puller!

228,000 visitors were received throughout Austria, with more than 55,000 in Wels. Even at starlim // sterner in Marchtrenk the crowd was enormous. “We welcomed almost 700 researchers and are happy about the positive feedback from visitors,” says organizer Simone Steiner. “But we are particularly pleased that many children and young people visited the Long Night of Research at starlim // sterner”.

CEO Thomas Bründl is also convinced of the largest research event in the German-speaking area and says: “We were one of the first companies which participated at the Long Night of Research. Our clear goal: to show young girls and boys how interesting research can be.”

This year, for the first time, starlim // sterner visitors were able to explore the visitor world on their own, in addition to guided tours of the company. Therefore a highly interesting slot machine for medical parts was demonstrated live, as well as a virtual tour offered by the company. The walkabout through toolmaking, training workshop and logistics gave the visitors a little insight into the company and triggered many WOW effects.
